Message definition (Import Export Preferences)

The [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/IGES Initial Graphics Exchange Specification] (IGES) file format is a file format that allows the digital exchange of information among CAD systems. After publication of the [[Preferences_Editor#STEP|STEP]] file format, IGES development was stopped in 1996, but it is still supported by many CAD programs. IGES files have the {{FileName|.iges}} or {{FileName|.igs}} extension.

Das Initial Graphics Exchange Specification (IGES) Dateiformat ist ein Dateiformat, das den digitalen Austausch von Informationen zwischen CAD Systemen ermöglicht. Nach der Veröffentlichung des Dateiformats STEP wurde die Entwicklung von IGES 1996 eingestellt, aber es wird immer noch von vielen CAD Programmen unterstützt. IGES Dateien haben die .iges oder .igs Erweiterung.
