The Part BoxSelection.svg Part BoxSelection tool allows you to select the faces of the objects on the screen that are touched by the rectangular selection.

Alternatively, if there is a need to select only the vertices of an object then Std BoxElementSelection.svg Std BoxElementSelection can be used. Use Std BoxSelection.svg Std BoxSelection if the need is to select the entire shape.


  1. Go to Part → Part BoxSelection.svg Box selection.
  2. Click and drag the pointer in the viewport creating a rectangle that touches one or more shapes.
